Triblends/Colourblends

As some of you know I love to combine my Alcohol markers with the Colored pencils. Now Spectrum Noir is my go to brand as I totally love working with these.  So last week I got a new collection of SN Triblend markers and the collection SN Colourblend pencils. I already owned Sn pencils but these where the first edition of the blendable pencils ( they are black while new Colourblend are red)  So yesterday it was a really dark day here in The Netherlands and I started to color this beautifull stamp from Ching Chou Kuik. You can see these are a little bit darker( sorry for that) Also the image for the pencils is printed on pencil paper while the marker image is printed on DCP from Claire Fontaine as my printer wasn't taking anything else ;) she is a cranky old hag sometimes but I keep loving her hahahahaha and hope next time she prints everything I want :)

So I started the image with coloring the skin I used the pencils you see in the picture started with the Rose Peach and colored the whole skin section then I made the shadows with the Maple, Maize and Espresso, the red currant is my go to pencil for the blush on the cheeks. I used the SN blending sollution to blend the colors all nicely together.

For her hair I used the Russet, Cinnamon, Saddle Brown and Espresso.  Going from dark to light.

For the poppies I used the Maroon, Raspberry, Carmine and Flame Red from dark to light. And blend with the blending sollution.

All the green parts are done with the Fern Green, Maple and Sage.

For the clothing and butterflies I used the Smooth Jade, Lagoon, Amethyst, Wisteria and Boysenberry.

This is the end result, I added white dots with white drawing ink. I am going to fuzzy cut this image so don't need a background for her.

Now it is time to start working on the marker image. I used the SN Triblend marker Fair Skin blend for all the skin parts. I started with Dark to light.

For her hair part I used the Triblend marker Tan Shades this is the darkest of the 2 Tan markers.

For the green parts I used the Triblend Marker Dull Green.

For the clothing and butterflies I used the Triblend markers Hydrangea and the Ice Blue blends.

The Poppies are done with the 2 Dark Red Triblend markers. You go from dark to light. Remember that you can use also the SN Illustrator markers or the SN Classiques markers for this as they all have the same ink formula now.
And you can even use your Triblends together with the Illustrators and Classiques if you do not have all collections. They all work perfectly together. I personally adore the triblends and the classiques as I am a bullitnib colorist.

For her cheeks I used the Colourblend pencils Red Currant. I can't help myself but I do not like cheeks colored with any marker ;)

My finished Triblend coloring.

And the 2 images together so you can see how the both are colored. For me personally I like the marker a little bit better and I think I sneaky going to enhance it a little bit more with the Colourblend pencils. As I really love using these 2 mediums together as they are perfect partners.

I hope you enjoyed my Triblend markers versus Colourblend pencils.
